Energy meters measure and record electrical energy consumption (active, and often reactive and apparent energy) for billing, sub-metering, energy management and load monitoring. They span single-phase and three-phase, direct-connected and CT-operated, and panel and DIN-rail formats, making them a high-volume sourcing item for EU and GCC utilities, facilities, panel builders and energy-management distributors.

The family includes static (electronic) kWh meters, multifunction energy/power meters, DIN-rail sub-meters and smart meters with communications. A key reference family is IEC 62053, which defines accuracy classes for static meters (for example Class 1 and Class 0.5 S for active energy under IEC 62053-21/22, and reactive-energy classes under IEC 62053-23/24); IEC 62052-11 covers general test requirements, and many meters meet MID (Measuring Instruments Directive 2014/32/EU) for fiscal use in the EU. Key specification parameters include rated voltage and current (direct or CT), accuracy class, measured parameters, tariff/register features and communications. Instrument safety follows IEC 61010-1 or product-specific IEC standards; EMC under the relevant IEC standard.

Construction typically uses a sealed, often IP-rated meter enclosure for panel or DIN-rail mounting with terminal covers for tamper resistance. Options commonly include Modbus RS-485, M-Bus, pulse outputs, multi-tariff registers, and MID-certified variants for billing.

Configuration choices that matter at inquiry stage include phase configuration, direct/CT connection, accuracy class, MID requirement and communications, and whether traceable calibration is required. Himalay's verified manufacturer partners supply energy meters with test reports and CoC, CE (LVD/EMC, and MID where specified), and RoHS/REACH, with SABER (Saudi Arabia) coordinated as part of the standard order flow; ISO/IEC 17025 calibration and traceability or factory acceptance testing are arranged where specified.
