Cable Testers
Cable testers are instruments used to verify the continuity, wiring configuration and performance of copper data, telecom and electrical cabling, from simple wiremap checks to full certification of structured-cabling links. Typical buyers include network installers, telecom contractors, data-centre operators, building services teams and electrical maintenance providers across the EU and GCC. The family spans basic continuity and wiremap testers, tone-and-probe and cable tracers, qualification testers that confirm a link supports a given network speed, and certification testers that measure parameters such as insertion loss, NEXT/return loss and length against structured-cabling standards. Key parameters generally include the cable types supported (twisted-pair, coax, multi-conductor), the standards referenced for certification (for example ISO/IEC 11801 and TIA categories such as Cat 5e/6/6A/8), measurement accuracy, and length/fault-distance capability. Safety and EMC design typically reference IEC 61010 and IEC 61326. For certification work, calibration traceability through an ISO/IEC 17025 accredited laboratory is commonly required. Construction is usually a rugged handheld housing with a defined ingress rating, rechargeable battery and interchangeable adapters or remote units. Configuration options often include certification report generation, fibre modules, PoE detection and network diagnostics; some platforms accept interchangeable adapter cords for different connector types and store results for later export. The choice of adapters and remote units is usually matched to the connector standards in the installed base, and report templates are configured to the warranty programme or project specification.
