Body Protection & Workwear
Body protection and protective workwear covers the garments that shield the torso, arms and legs from hazards while meeting visibility, flame, chemical, arc and weather requirements. It spans construction, road and rail, oil and gas, utilities, food and pharmaceuticals, and is a high-volume catalogue line for EU and GCC distributors and contractors.
The base ergonomic and general standard is EN ISO 13688, on which hazard-specific standards build: EN ISO 20471 for high-visibility clothing (classes 1-3 by reflective and fluorescent area), EN ISO 11612 for heat and flame, EN ISO 11611 for welding, EN 1149 for electrostatic dissipative garments, IEC 61482 for electric-arc protection, EN 13034 (Type 6) and EN 14605 (Types 3/4) for chemical liquid protection, EN 14126 for infective agents, and EN 343 for rain and weather. Many garments are multi-norm, certified to several standards at once. The recognised North American frameworks include ANSI/ISEA 107 for hi-vis and NFPA 2112/70E for flame and arc.
Fabrics range from polyester-cotton and inherently flame-resistant aramid/modacrylic blends to coated and laminated chemical barriers and breathable waterproof membranes; construction features include reflective tape placement, reinforced knees and seats, multiple pockets and brand panels. Selectable options include hi-vis class and colour, multi-norm protection package, garment type (coverall, jacket, trouser, bib), sizing and printing.
