Automotive batteries are the rechargeable energy stores that crank the engine, stabilise system voltage and power lighting and auxiliaries when the alternator is not supplying. SLI (starting, lighting, ignition) lead-acid batteries dominate the family and serve OEM assembly, replacement aftermarket and fleet buyers across cars, commercial vehicles, buses, tractors and two-wheelers. For EU and GCC importers, India offers a broad lead-acid manufacturing base covering both conventional and stop-start-grade chemistries.

Types include conventional flooded/vented batteries, calcium maintenance-free designs, EFB (Enhanced Flooded Battery) for entry stop-start, and AGM (Absorbent Glass Mat) VRLA for stop-start and higher cyclic duty. Key parameters are nominal voltage (commonly 12 V for passenger cars and 24 V two-battery systems for trucks), rated capacity in Ah (typically C20), cold-cranking amps (CCA, often per EN), reserve capacity and case size to standards such as DIN/ETN or BCI. European starter batteries are generally designed and tested to EN 50342, which defines capacity, cold-cranking performance, charge acceptance, cycle life, vibration resistance and safety labelling. Lithium-ion starter and auxiliary variants are emerging from a narrower supplier set; cells shipped separately are subject to UN 38.3 transport testing.

Construction centres on polypropylene cases and lids, lead-calcium or lead-antimony grids, AGM separators in VRLA designs, flame-arrestor vents and corrosion-resistant terminals, with hold-down and handle options per platform. Spill-proofing, vibration class and high-temperature endurance matter for GCC climates.

Himalay's verified manufacturer partners supply automotive batteries with test reports and certificates of conformity, CE/RoHS declarations and EN 50342 performance data, with UN 38.3 documentation for any lithium variants and SABER (Saudi Arabia) coordinated as part of the standard order flow; specific cranking, capacity and climate-endurance validation is arranged where specified.
